We used to refer to this in our lessons as “cebril khawatir.” Alhamdulillah.
Example:
Someone offers grapes to our Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet puts one in his mouth and realizes they are unripe—sour grapes.
Even so, the Prophet eats all of them.
Hz. Umar is surprised, because normally when something is offered, the Prophet would take a little and distribute the rest to the Ashab al-Suffa.
Hz. Umar asks the reason, and the Prophet says:
“They were very sour. If you had eaten them, you would have made a face.
That would have upset the person who offered them.”
So he acted this way to avoid hurting the giver’s feelings.
This is what is called “cebril khawatir.”
This came to my mind, my sister.
