Even if a person sits in the presence of a scholar and understands nothing of what is said, seven blessings are bestowed upon them:

– They attain the virtue of seeking knowledge.
– They are protected from sins as long as they remain in the scholar’s company.
– If they leave their home with the intention of seeking knowledge, mercy descends upon them.
– When blessings descend upon the gathering, they receive a share of it.
– They are rewarded for worship as long as they listen.
– If their heart feels constricted due to their inability to understand or grasp knowledge, this sorrow becomes a means of mercy for them. For it is stated in a noble hadith:
*”I am with those whose hearts are broken for My sake.”*
– By witnessing the scholar’s esteem among people and the disgrace of the sinner, their heart is softened, and their disposition inclines toward knowledge.

For this reason, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to keep the company of scholars.
